Mary Brogan Art & Science Museum
Opened in 1998, the Odyssey Science Center at the Mary Brogan Art & Science Museum houses a variety of hands-on exhibits geared to spark children's interest in science. Over two floors, visitors can learn about various aspects of science, technology and mathematics. Some of the highlights of the permanent exhibits include an interactive weather station and broadcast booth, a flight trainer, and the Saturday afternoon learning program. Lake Talquin
In 1927 the Jackson Bluff Dam was constructed on the Ochlockonee River to produce hydroelectric power. The waters held back by the dam formed Lake Talquin, which now offers outstanding recreational opportunities. Catch largemouth bass, bream, shellcracker, and speckled perch. Visitors can enjoy nature walks, picnicking, boating, and canoeing. Nature lovers will enjoy the rolling hills and deep ravines with forests of pines and hardwoods where they may spy wild turkeys, bald eagles, ospreys, and deer. Maclay State Gardens
Many modern gardens are quite different from Maclay Gardens, in that they are considered floral show gardens where displays of flowers are changed several times a year and fantastic scenes are contrived of flowers. Tallahassee Museum & Nature Science
A walk through the 1880's farm complex or a stroll by a Florida panther habitat at the Natural Habitat Zoo can be as educational as the visitor desires.
