Busch Gardens Tampa
This 335-acre theme park re-creates some of the sites and sounds of Africa. The area is divided into eight different regions, including the Timbuktu section that has a dolphin theater, rides, a German restaurant, and an entertainment center; the Myombe Reserve has gorillas and chimpanzees; the Serengeti Plain is home to Edge of Africa, a 15-acre animal theme park through which visitors can take a safari and take a roller coaster ride right after! Caladesi Island State Park/Beach
One of the few completely natural islands along Florida´s Gulf Coast, Caladesi´s white sand shores have been rated as one of the nation´s best beaches. Honeymoon Island State Park
The pioneers called it Hog Island, but it became Honeymoon Isle in 1939 when a New York developer built 50 palm - thatched bungalows for honeymooners. Today, visitors can drive across Dunedin Causeway to enjoy the sun - drenched Gulf beaches, mangrove swamps, and tidal flats. Nature lovers will find osprey nests, a wide variety of shorebirds, and one of the few remaining virgin slash pine forests in South Florida. Call 727-469-5942. for more information.

Sunken Gardens
A botanical paradise in the midst of a bustling city, Sunken Gardens is indeed a Florida treasure. Now owned by the city of St. Petersburg, these grounds were originally carved out of a large sinkhole and shallow lake by plumber George Turner in 1924. The attraction fell into disrepair over the years, but since the city has taken over, 6,000 new plants have been added, plus a beautiful butterfly garden.
